The best diet!

The best diet I've ever been on has been the stress diet! I've lost over ten pounds since we started this whole house buying/selling adventure! Of course, the stress alone has probably taken ten years off of my life!

I've looked at weight loss products in the past and I can't imagine any of them work as good as the stress or sick diet!

Work cancelled.

I was planning on taking Emmy with me today to a campus about 2 hours away to see the campus and take photos.

However, since Emmy was up for a good portion of the night with the coughing AND the campus tour would more than likely be a good 3 hours outside I think I might have to put it off til Friday.

Ugh...so much work. So little time.

Acne at it's best.

Shawna gets the worst acne. Typically it follows "that time of the month". When she was pregnant she didn't have even one pimple. It's really weird the role that our hormones can play in our facial acne!

I've seen the kiosks in the mall and I'm guessing I should find out more about the acne scar removal. I have a few pits that I'm a bit paranoid about and it would be great to find something to help fill in the small holes caused from past acne.

The house.

So we just got the quote to have roofing, windows, and siding replaced on the Kay St. house.

$37,900.

Holy shit, folks! That's a lot of money for only the outside of the house! Like what kind of love can you really do to your house with a brand new roof.

Ugh.

I think we're going to do the roof, replace the rotted boards, and then paint the front door.

We might go ahead and add a new front door, garage doors and replace fixtures like lights and mailbox.

Either way...all this little stuff really adds up.

Once in a while...

typically when I'm under a good deal of stress I get acne!

It's quite amusing really because my pimples are so anti-climatic. I think they're going to be huge monsters and I pop them and they barely surface.

I should really do it a better and safer way for my face and try a remedy for acne that won't leave scarring.

The hurt and the sick!

Last night we checked family temps. Graem was running a very low grade and Emmy's was 101. Emmy also had this horrible barking cough and finally Shawna ended up going downstairs and moving her up to our bed.

We both hovered over her and kept checking her fever and to make sure she was breathing alright.

At 4am we decided to do nebulizer of steroids and an anti-anflaminatory. That did the job.

POP

My skin is pretty decent aside from the dryness around my mouth and earlobes. Every once in a while I get the little bitty pimple that doesn't pop. Totally unsatisfying if you ask me!

Shawna has pretty bad skin and she has never found the trick of how to get rid of blackheads! It seems like she'll pop them and they'll just fill right back up within a few days.

Gross.

Snow be gone.

The weather lately has been bizarre. It seems like every other day we get snow. Then sun. On the sunny days the snow is almost all melted. Only to have a cold night and snow when we wake up.

I'm almost over this winter and ready for spring to arrive.

Of course, what would be better than having a nice tropical vacation planned...

*MUST SAVE MONEY FOR NEW HOUSE*

Bad skin.

I have always had bad skin. Ever since I can remember I've had excema and it tends to flare up in the winter when my skin is extra dry. It also gives me a hard time in the summer when I sweat.

Typically my face will break out around my lips if/when I eat something that I'm allergic to. I haven't found the best face cream and it seems like I've purchased everything that's on the market!

4 days off!

Shawna goes into surgery next Tuesday and aside from being scared about the whole thing and her health and safety....I'm pretty excited about taking a few days off to spend with the family.

It looks like we might have an inspection that Friday and I'm guessing that we'll also need to start packing.

Eek...this is going to go fast!

Beware.

The other day I was at Wegmans and I saw the craziest sight. Two identical looking people wearing Nascar jackets and mullets.

I seriously couldn't tell if they were twins, brothers, or lesbians.

What has this world come to?

The kiddos

I can't believe that we have a 5 year old and a 19 month old.

Time has gone by so fast! I remember when Graem was Emmy's age! In fact, when she was 18 months old we were trying to get pregnant again. It was so stressful and between the traveling back and forth to Las Vegas and trying to afford the next treatment it seems like time really slipped away.

Moving day?

At some point we're going to have to find another place to live since our house is sold! Either we get this house on Kay St. or we're going to have to move into an apartment until we can find a house.

I'm glad that we've been able to get rid of the unused fitness equipment, boxes of junk, and books that we don't need. At least that will cut down on things we have to move from place to place!

House - SOLD.

Well, we're starting to poop in our pants now because we've sold our house! We got asking price and it sold within 4 days. Not joking. We were shock.

Now we're homeless. We keep putting offers in on a house in Northeast but the owner is a dickweed and won't get back to us in a timely manner and then the contract is null and void.

We just submitted a contract this morning and his agent is driving to the hospital to get it signed.

We'll see...

An update on the new house...

The update is ... there is no update!

We submitted an offer. They came back and said it was so low it was offensive, then a day later they said they wanted to counter. We said we'd wait for them to counter.

That was three days ago!

Their agent has been calling and emailing non-stop to try and make contact and they're not returning either.

So...as much as we were planning floor tiles, new roofing, and had picked out our stainless steel appliances - I'm not sure we're going to be moving anytime soon.

Crazy kids.

Tonight I got home from work and the kids were bouncing off the walls! They haven't left the house for 48 hours now and to say the least...they have cabin fever!

We've been getting quite the snow dump. Two days ago Shawna scheduled a playdate for both kids and they came to our house. Yesterday we had quite a bit of snow so they stayed inside.

For some reason I have an idea we're going to get nailed this winter...

Offline.

Knock on wood our network has been up and running without problems for a while. Everytime something goes wrong within minutes I'm on the phone with Margot at work or I call the cable company directly!

We have had some issues with our Linksys router. We had one burn out on us and had to buy another one.

I'm guessing the next big purchase we make will probably be a new laptop or computer. We'll probably try to get our existing desktop up and running again. It'd be nice for the kids to play with.

You wondering?

Why I'm posting all of these posts at 2:50am New Year's Day? It's not because I partied like a rockstar and I'm having the midnight munchies.

It's because my belly is aching like a mother and I know it's those damn gall stones. Ugh. I have my surgical consult Monday and I hope they can get me into surgery soon to take these little bastards out.

I wonder if they'll let me see them....

Smokin'

I remember when we found out I was pregnant we had already booked a trip to see Alex and Dom and so after seeing little Grammy's heartbeat on the ultrasound we boarded a plane and went on vacation!

Shawna was so excited to buy good cigars that within hours of touching down in London she was smoking a fine Cubano!

Now of course, neither of us would ever smoke - much less around the kids!

A few days off!

Well, it's another year and I'm happy to say that I'll have the next few days to spend with the family. I wasn't able to take off time over the Christmas holidays and so my vacation stash is getting pretty fat!

Not sure what we're going to do this year for vacation. We spent a fortune in California so we're thinking about staying close by and maybe even going to Shawna's cousins in Michigan.

Good ole' Ithaca!

There are some things that I love about a small town. In fact, I love that it takes me just a few minutes to get to work on most days.

I love Wegman's Grocery Store!

But I have the hardest time finding specifics like electrical supplies! Even going to the giant hardware stores I can never find what I want and half of the time it's hard to track down an employee to help me out!

Happy New Year!

Well, I'll make a confession...

You know how this blog started out as Margot's blog....well, I've (Shawna) been writing every single one of the entries!

I started this blog years ago when we were doing some pretty intense blogging for money and Margot was at work. So I figured since I had two other blogs that I would simply write from Margot's mind.

Weird? Yes.

Now, if you don't mind...I'll continue to write.
