Sold!

At one point I thought I really wanted to sale real estate.   I still think it's an awesome job and I know a ton about our area, the market, and houses.   However, I'm not willing to put in the long hours and weekends away from my family.

I saw the real estate crm and it looks like an awesome app for agents and other real estate followers to have!

Maybe 10 years from now when my kids are older and don't want to be around me ... I'll reconsider!

So much hockey...

Life has been super crazy.   I no longer work.   BUT...I feel like I've been busier than ever.   I've been trying to tackle painting the living room and it's turned into a major pain in the ass because I've dealt with two defective cants of paint.

Last weekend we watched the CU hockey team get bumped out of the NCAA tournament.   Such a bummer.   We were so excited to travel and watch them and really thought they had a great chance of winning the championship.

I love a parade!

Just a few more months til Ithaca Parade.   Such a fun time!   As much as I wanted my kids to be involved in parades and band - they have absolutely no interest!   Graem likes the outfits, Emmy is obsessed with what comes next, and Keane just wants to play with the classic color guard rifles!!

It is on my bucket list to go and see the Macy's Day parade.   Of course, after years of watching it and me realizing that I'm in a warm house and those people on television are outside freezing to death - it makes me wonder if maybe it's not all it's cracked up to be!

NYC!

Well, it looks like we will be going in a few weeks to NYC!   And we're not bringing the kids.   Margot has a spine surgery consult there with a good surgeon at NYU.   They are very apprehensive on who they take on as patients and I guess her case peaked their interest.

We are heading out on the bus Sunday morning and planning a nice dinner.   We are also staying in one of the trendy pod hotels.   Should be a nice getaway.

Oh yeah...we will be going to the doctor too!

Slow, slow, slow

Work has been so friggin slow.   I was promoted at work back in October with them thinking they were going to sign this big client.   Anyway....they haven't.    Which means that I'm basically sitting here for the past few months twiddling my thumbs.

I have been getting a few commercial cases that I go out and do immediately - but it's just enough to cover the cost of daycare.

I feel like I'm hounding my bosses for more work and yesterday I even got so desperate that I applied for some part time positions.

Detox!

We have been talking for a while about doing a detox program.   In fact, I've been looking at different detoxes online and trying to figure out what the best one would be for us.   I've looked at http://www.rapiddetoxlasvegas.com and it has some of the good features that I have read about.

One thing is - it has to be easy and we really need to feel cleansed and ready to start with living a better life and treating our bodies better!

Ready for a break...

Last week I was in the hospital for four days with pneumonia.   It was awful.   I found out a few things including that our local hospital sucks.   If anything major happens - I'm out of here and heading to either Sayre or Rochester to a bigger and better hospital!

That took up much of my holiday and we are leaving next week to go to Disney.   I can't wait and hope that I can get some much needed R&R!

The car...

Margot's 2006 might be on it's last leg.   We've started looking at cars.   I've looked at the Prius and last night I started looking at the Volt.

There are tax incentives now to buy the electric cars and they make the cars really reasonably priced.   PLUS....who wouldn't like getting 36 free miles per charge and great highway mileage when the automobile turns to gas mode?

Up, up, and away!

We have become dear friends with L and G.   They are just like our kid's grandmas and we love them dearly.   They are a bit older than us and I know there could come a time when we would need to take care of them.

I haven't even broached the topic of what they would want to do and I can imagine that ideally they would like to stay in their own home as long as possible.

They have a beautiful 2 story farm house and in order to make things easier it might make sense for them to have a stair chair lift.

Back to work!

After almost two years away from work having babies and raising the children - I'm back!!!

It's been an OK transition.   At times I miss being home and then there are other times that I really do like being out and about and love my job.

We've been trying to figure out the balance between work and home.   Now that I'm back it means that the cooking and cleaning has to be shared.    This isn't happening.   So it means that I'm still taking care of kids, working, and then the other stuff is still on me.

Thank God we have a housekeeper that comes every other week to help out.

The paycheck has been nice too.

Are you in trouble?

I'm so glad that we have been responsible financially over the years.   Despite me staying home with the kids, have three babies, and buying a new house - we have managed to stay debt free.

Our friends have not always been so lucky.   In fact, my friend Erin was talking about requirements for bankruptcy and it seems like over the years it has become harder and harder for people who struggle financially to start over and claim bankruptcy.

This economy has been hard on everyone and now that we are coming out of a recession I can imagine many people would like a new beginning.

Busy mamas...

Life has been crazy!   Summer is upon us and we are in the middle of fixing up the house, hardening, and renting out our house so that we can travel!

I have us booked for almost every weekend in July and August and the good thing is we are going out of town and making money by renting our house!

The bad news is....it's going to be crazy and the turnaround times are sometimes just one or two days!

We're back!

We got home yesterday around 5pm.    To say the least this morning when the kids crawled out of bed they were exhausted!!    Graem was in tears when she got on the bus and Emmy was fighting with us (as usual) about what she was going to wear.

It's 70 degrees today and she's wearing a long sleeve shirt and TIGHTS under her pants.

What can you do?
